Membership
The Brewster Ladies' Library is operated by the Brewster Ladies' Library Association, a private, non-profit corporation, and serves as the free public library for the town of Brewster. Generally, the Town finances the day-to-day operation of the library and the Association pays for maintenance and improvement of the building, furnishings, computers and special services.
The Membership of the BLLA is currently over 1000 strong. This group provides the library with financial aid, through membership fees and fund raising efforts, and a large amount of community interest and support. All members receive a quarterly newsletter, The Library Update in the mail, as well as the satisfaction of supporting a vital institution.
Board of Directors
The Board of Directors, four officers and eight directors, nominated and elected by the association membership, govern the library, set policies and are responsible for long-range planning. Each director also chairs or serves on one or more working committees.
